The PS should always end on a positive note, and the conclusion should summarize the body of the statement. It is important to reiterate the primary message of the personal statement and thank the audience for their consideration. This will leave the reader with positive images of the applicant as they put the personal statement down.
Finally, a PS is a formal essay, and appropriate language should therefore be employed. Care should be exercised in avoiding a range of errors that usually plague first_time writers. We have included a list of these errors in the latter part of the booklet. Additionally, a good PS should range between 600 words, unless otherwise specified. There is strictly no limit in terms of paragraph count, but a good rule of thumb is to have between six to eight paragraphs.
